Why choose me? My clients say I am a caring and empathetic person. I am trained as both a hypnotherapist and nutritional therapist and clients benefit from both areas of expertise. I practise nutritional therapy and hypnotherapy in Cheltenham in my little clinic near the Bath Road in Leckhampton. Sessions can also be carried out online via Zoom if you prefer.

My Qualifications and Services

I am a registered, insured Nutritional Therapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and health coach with a Masters degree (MSc) (Distinction) from the University of Worcester and a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I specialise in anxiety, IBS and digestive health and I practise online and from a clinic in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I can support your health goal with hypnotherapy, nutritional therapy, coaching or a combination of approaches to ensure that your changes are not overwhelming yet they are achievable and long-lasting. With nutritional therapy, I use a functional medicine approach, the latest scientific research, good clinical practice, and I practise from an evidence base – this means advice is based on evidence not trends. Each year I undertake at least 30 hours of extra training (continued professional development (CPD)) for nutritional therapy and at least 15 hours of extra CPD for hypnotherapy. I regularly attend training courses such as seminars, webinars, and workshops so that I am fully abreast of the latest in nutrition and hypnotherapy research and effective clinical practice. For nutritional therapy I am a full member of both the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), (a regulatory body for practitioners, established by the government), ensuring that I am covered by a comprehensive code of practice. For Hypnotherapy, I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR). I am on the ICO register and comply with GDPR. As a hypnotherapist, I have trained in gut-directed hypnotherapy to provide an evidence-based protocol and technique to support my clients with IBS. Hypnotherapy is a powerful and effective therapy that can support many goals and issues. It complements nutritional therapy but can also be used on its own to support many issues. My background is in teaching. I have a BA (Ed) (Hons) degree from Reading University and have over ten years of teaching experience. I am also a mother of two teenagers, so I fully understand the challenges of balancing a stressful work life with a busy home and family life! I believe in eating wholesome, nourishing foods to support good health and well-being. I aim to guide my clients in creating easy-to-prepare, delicious, and nutritious food that fits in with your tastes and lifestyle. I promote a balanced mindset around food and I do not get you to give up your favourite foods. I don’t hand out strict meal plans either as these set us up for failure. What I do is to support you where you are today and we build on what you are doing at a pace that suits you.  On that note, sometimes it can feel overwhelming to make diet and lifestyle changes or we may be held back by anxiety, stress or unhelpful habits. That’s where hypnotherapy can come in alongside your nutritional therapy if you would like. Nutrition is just one important part of the puzzle, and lifestyle is also a vital element in fostering optimum health and well-being. I provide you with tools and support for you to cultivate a balanced, healthy lifestyle and mental outlook. My approach is based on Functional Medicine, which supports the root of a problem holistically. Holistically means that we look at supporting the body as a whole rather than focusing on one symptom. The aim is to address any nutritional or metabolic imbalances to help you achieve optimum health. To do this, I use a range of tools including questionnaires, dietary analysis, and in some cases, functional testing. Hypnotherapy could also be seen as holistic. By supporting one problem area, say anxiety, for example, this can have far-reaching benefits across your health, wellbeing, confidence, and lifestyle.

Nutritional therapy is not a quick fix. It may take many months and involves your commitment. It involves working together to support the root of a problem with both diet and lifestyle. Nutrition support is tailored specifically to you using specific food, nutrients, and lifestyle advice to support the body and mind. Depending on your health goal, this process may take a few months but will enable you to support yourself in optimum health for the rest of your life. Hypnotherapy is a fairly quick therapy though but it’s also a collaborative therapy and for best results requires a few sessions. Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy in Cheltenham

After practising in nutritional therapy for some time, I felt that I wanted to offer my clients further support, another tool they could use to support their nervous systems. Often my clients experience stress and anxiety and can link this to their health issues including IBS. I always talk about how nutrition is only one piece of the puzzle but I felt I needed to offer another solution. IBS can sometimes be caused by the nervous system. It is not as easy to support the nervous system with nutrition and lifestyle alone. Hypnotherapy is well evidenced at supporting many issues including IBS. In IBS sometimes there is an error in communication between the brain, the gut and the nervous system. This makes the gut very sensitive regardless of the foods eaten. Hypnotherapy is effective at supporting this sensitivity and digestive issues -and much more. So I have trained in cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy to provide this other layer of support for my clients. Further more, as a hypnotherapist I can support your mindset or unhelpful habits and behaviours that may be holding you back from reaching your goals.
